If you are learning to sew for the first time, you should choose Usha Janome Dream Stitch because it has lowest stitching speed at 550 SPM. 

Low stitching speed will help you get confidence on your sewing capabilities.

If you have used a manual or any other sewing machine earlier then it would be good to go for 700+ SPM, provided by Singer Start 1304, 1306 or Singer 1408.

Brother sewing machines offer more features at low price but Brother company do not provide demo and service in India (as mentioned many times by the sellers).
